How to Care for Your Ceramic Tiles
Ceramic tiles are known for having a high water resistance rating, as well as being easy to clean. Properly caring for your ceramic tiles will ensure that they last as long as possible, and once you learn how to properly care for your ceramic tiles, cleaning them becomes a breeze. One of the most important things you can do is to damp mop your floor tiles or use a sponge on countertop tiles at least once a week. This will decrease any wear and tear due to abrasive dirt and grit. If you have floor tiles, you will want to do this more than once per week in any areas that have a high amount of traffic. Before using a mop or sponge, you should sweep, dust, or vacuum up any dirt, debris, or dust present, especially before using any cleaning agents on your tile. As far as cleaning agents go, the choice will depend on whether or not you have glazed tile or unglazed tile. Using the wrong cleaning agent on these tiles can cause noticeable damage, resulting in the need to replace some or all of your tiles. For glazed tiles, you will want to use any all-purpose cleaner, as long as it is not oil based. Unglazed tiles, however, will require concentrated tile cleaners with a neutral pH balance. If your tiles are made of glass, use any glass cleaner or tile cleaner that is nonabrasive. For unglazed tiles, do not use any cleaner that has coloration to it, as this could leave stains. Tips:
